2 dead in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died in a vehicular accident along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca town in Quezon province on Friday, police said Saturday.

Report said the victims, motorcycle driver Armando Arandela, 38, and his backrider Conrado Nullan, 42, were traversing the highway when their vehicle was accidentally bumped by a Nissan Urvan van running in the same direction in Barangay (village) Panikihan around 4:30 p.m.

The motorcycle riders both sustained serious injuries and died while being taken to Gumaca District Hospital.

The van driver, whose name was not mentioned in the report, is now detained at the Gumaca police jail.
