Couple killed, teacher wounded in Nueva Ecija gun attack

PEÑARANDA, NUEVA ECIJA — A couple was killed Saturday morning in a gun attack that also wounded a teacher in Barangay (village) Poblacion 1 here.

Spouses Jerry Abesamis, 48, a businessman, and Alicia, 47, were killed by four unidentified men who opened fire at a kitchenette at 9 a.m. while they were eating.

A stray bullet struck Lea Reyes, 23, of Krus Na Ligas, Diliman, Quezon City. Reyes is being treated at a local hospital.

The attack appeared unprovoked, police said.

The gunmen fled on board a black sedan. Probers recovered from the crime scene 8 spent shells fired from a cal.-45 pistol. CBB
