WATCH: Batangas earthquake felt and filmed underwater
“How do you feel the 5.7-magnitude earthquake underwater?”
Professional diver Jan Paul Rodriguez posed this question on Facebook and answered it in a video showing the effect of the 5.7-magnitude earthquake that jolted Batangas on April 8.
In his video, the quake jolted even the sea bed where sand rose and rocks glided as the ground under the sea rumbled.

His video has since gained 413,000 views, 2,700 likes and over 1,900 shares on Facebook as of this story’s posting time.
Batangas was jolted by a swarm of earthquakes since the first one at magnitude 5.5 hit the province on April 4 and culminated with three magnitude 5 earthquakes on April 8.

Phivolcs said the quakes felt in Batangas were part of an earthquake swarm, or a series of small to moderately sized earthquakes due to incremental movements from a still unnamed fault spanning Tingloy Island and Mabini in Batangas.’
Phivolcs ruled out the possibility of a tsunami in the province famous for its diving hotspots. IDL
