Rain in Eastern Visayas, Caraga as LPA hovers near Surigao
Parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rain due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Sur, the state weather bureau said Monday.
“Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides is expected over Eastern Visayas and Caraga,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The weather disturbance was last spotted 235 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and it was unlikely to turn into a cyclone.
Bicol, Central Visayas and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
The northeast monsoon continued to prevail over Northern Luzon, Pagasa said.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain will prevail over the Batanes, Cagayan and Ilocos Norte.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. CBB
