Soli-soli Festival

This celebration in San Francisco town on Camotes Island, Cebu province is named after the soli-soli plant, which is endemic to the island. Soli-soli is used as a material for bag, hats, mats and other handicrafts, which are showcased in different festivities.

Pasayaw Festival

A combination of the phrase, “pasalamat pinaagi sa sayaw” (a thanksgiving through dance), Pasayaw is celebrated in Canlaon City in Negros Oriental province. The festival honors St. Joseph in a street dancing competition and parade.

Tobacco Festival

The city of Candon in Ilocos Sur province promotes its major industry in this festival that coincides with the cityhood anniversary. Events include a street dancing competition, a marching band competition, cultural presentations and rolling of tobacco leaves into cigarettes.
