LPA to dump rain in Luzon, the Visayas

A low pressure area (LPA) near Eastern Visayas will bring rain in parts of Luzon and Visayas on Monday, the weather bureau said.

Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol and Eastern Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa warned of possible flashfloods and landslides in these areas.

The rest of the Visayas and the provinces of Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms.

The LPA was last spotted 100 kilometers east northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, the amihan or northeast monsoon continues to affect Luzon.

The Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rain, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain. CBB
