Report violators of indiscriminate firing, illegal firecracker ban —EPD

The Eastern Police District has urged the public to report to the police violators of the illegal firecrackers ban, and cases of indiscriminate firing during the New Year revelry.

“We highly encourage everyone to report to the nearest police station those who are selling deadly firecrackers and those people especially in the uniformed service if they are indiscriminately firing their firearms before, during and after the New Year celebration,” EPD director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula said.

The EPD includes the cities of San Juan, Mandaluyong, Marikina and Pasig City.

The public can report to the police stations or send a message in EPD’s own Facebook account (EPD React) or Twitter account (@epdpio), or call EPD’s Tactical Operations Center, 641-0877/ 09177283790 for firecracker and indiscriminate firing concerns.

Following the orders of Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, Sapitula said all those who will fire indiscriminately will be immediately arrested and charged accordingly.

In relation to the Iwas Paputok, Iwas Disgrasya campaign, the EPD, together with the Bureau of Fire and Protection and other non-government organizations, also posted several caravans where police distributed flyers to prevent firecracker-related injuries starting early Friday until the New Year.

The EPD caravans are stationed at the Pasig City Police Station- C. Raymundo Avenue, Brgy. Caniogan, Pasig City; Mandaluyong City Police Station- Maysilo Circle, Mandaluyong City; Marikina City Police Station- McDonald Avenue, Marikina City and San Juan City Hall along Pinaglabanan Street. CDG
