Debt collector killed at home in Ecija on Christmas
ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija – A 46-year-old debt collector was shot dead as he slept in bed with his wife inside their sari-sari store in Concepcion village here on Sunday night.
Carlito Buenavente was asleep at 7:30 p.m. when an unidentified man barged into the store and shot him.
His wife, Jennifer, was unharmed and cried out for help but Buenavente died instantly, police said.
Investigators recovered five spent shells fired from a cal. 45 handgun. The police have yet to establish the motive for the killing. JE/rga
