Cavite to implement number coding scheme

The government of Cavite has announced that the number coding scheme will be implemented in the province.

“This is to inform the public that the Province of Cavite will implement the Unified Vehicular Reduction System, also known as Number Coding Scheme,” the provincial government announced in its official Facebook page.

”Please wait for further announcements of the date when the ordinance will be implemented,” it said.

The provincial ordinance prohibits private cars, vans, trucks with plates ending in number 1 and 2 from major thoroughfares on Monday; 3 and 4 on Tuesday; 5 and 6 on Wednesday; 7 and 8 on Thursday; 9 and 0 on Friday.

Motorists will not be able to pass through Aguinaldo Highway, Governor’s Drive, Molino-Salawag-Paliparan Road, Molino Boulevard, Daang Hari Road from 6:00AM to 9:00AM and from 3:00PM to 7:00PM.

However, public utility vehicles, school buses, emergency and government vehicles will be exempted from the number coding scheme.

A fine of P300.00 will be imposed to violators of the ordinance. JE/rga
