Detained ex-senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., has asked the Sandiganbayan for furlough to allow him to visit his ailing father at St. Luke’s Medical Center as soon as possible.

In a three-page urgent motion, Revilla said his father, former Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr., was diagnosed with severe sepsis secondary to pneumonia, a serious form of blood poisoning.

Revilla Sr. has been admitted  to the intensive care unit of the hospital, the antigraft court’s First Division was told.

The detained ex-senator sought to be allowed to visit his father “preferably” on the afternoon of Dec. 14, 15 or 16, but the court has not released a resolution on the matter as of press time. —VINCE F. NONATO
