President Rodrigo Duterte failed to show up at his one-on-one interview with TV host Kris Aquino on Friday.

A news report from TV5 said the President was not feeling well.

Duterte just returned home early Friday from his visit to Thailand and Malaysia this week.

The town hall session in Davao City was sponsored by the Go Negosyo initiative of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship. The live interview was supposed to air on TV5 and PTV 4.

It was also supposed to mark the comeback of Aquino, who left television in March to take a break from show biz.

“I was just excited just like you. I thought it would be an opportunity but may mga first date na hindi natutuloy,” Aquino said on live television.

She said she had prepared for the interview and even went on a diet for two weeks.

“Twenty-six na lang ang bewang ko. Sisiguraduhin ko 25 sa next time na pagkikita natin,” she said in jest.

Duterte is the successor of Kris’ brother, former President Benigno Aquino III. The female Aquino said she consulted her brother prior the interview.

“Tumawag ako, sabi ko Noy, I’m alone. What do I do? Sabi niya you made a commitment. Andyan ka because you believe in the Philippine economy. Andyan ka because you want everybody to be included in the growth of the Philippine economy,” she said.

The TV host said she hoped the interview would push through in the future.

“Ganun talaga ang nangyayari sa trabaho namin, minsan yung costar nagkakasakit. Hindi ko alam kung dahil sa sitwasyon ngayong linggo kaya inisnab ako,” she said.
