North Cotabato mayor arrested in anti-drug operation

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Authorities on Saturday arrested a North Cotabato mayor during an anti-drug operation.

But while the raid on four properties of Libungan Mayor Christopher Cuan failed to yield any illegal drug, police authorities found several undocumented firearms, according to Senior Superintendent Emmanuel Peralta, the North Cotabato police chief.

Cuan’s arrest came a day after police authorities killed Datu Saudi Ampatuan Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom and 9 others, in what the police said was also an anti-drug operation in Makilala town.
