Senate, House, SC trust ratings up in latest poll

The three top government institutions–Senate, House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court–enjoyed gains in trust ratings, the latest Pulse Asia survey showed.

The Ulat ng Bayan survey released on Friday showed that most respondents trusted the Senate and the House of Representatives, with ratings of 57% and 52%, respectively. Half of Filipinos (50%) trust the Supreme Court.

All three institutions enjoyed an increase in trust ratings from November last year. The Senate gained the highest percentage points, up 20 points from 37%, while the House gained 18 points from 34%. The Supreme Court’s trust rating is up by 9% from 41% in November.

Both the Senate and House performance ratings also increased, the survey showed. Fifty eight percent of the respondents approved of the performance of the Senate (up from 53%), while 52% approved of the House’s work (up from 49%).

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court’s performance rating dropped by 3 percentage points (51% from 54% in November).

The nationwide survey was based on a sample of 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above. It has a ± 3% error margin at the 95% confidence level.
