DID YOU KNOW: National Archives Day

Oct. 21 was declared National Archives Day by virtue of Proclamation No. 660 signed on Sept. 27, 1995, by then President Fidel Ramos. The Bureau of Archives, the predecessor of the National Archives of the Philippines, was established under the Department of Public Instruction through Philippine Commission Act No. 273 on Oct. 21, 1901. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
