Duterte visits typhoon-ravaged Batanes

BASCO, Batanes–President Rodrigo Duterte flew to this island province on Friday afternoon (Oct. 14) to inspect damages wrought by typhoon Ferdie.

Accompanied by four cabinet secretaries, he was received by people from various towns.

Duterte is expected to join an aerial inspection of Itbayat island, which was badly affected by Ferdie when it blew through the province on Sept. 13. He was joined here by Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, and Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol. CDG/rga
