Nueva Ecija teen detained for rape, murder of 16-year-old neighbor
GEN. TINIO, Nueva Ecija—A 15-year-old boy has been detained for the Sept. 26 rape and murder of his 16-year-old neighbor in Poblacion village here.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) took custody of the boy, a grade 7 pupil, after witnesses saw him fleeing the crime scene.
The 16-year-old girl died in a hospital from multiple stab wounds.

Police said her killer gained entry by drilling a hole near the door knob of her home at 1 a.m.

The boy was caught an hour later by village chair Arnold Dalangin and PO1 James Mamba.
Forensic investigators found the boy’s underwear and jogging pants and a 13-inch long kitchen knife at the crime scene.
