KIDAPAWAN CITY – Inmates at the North Cotabato Rehabilitation in Barangay (village) Amas here prevented jail guards from entering their cells by locking up the main gate on Friday morning.

The jail guards were to conduct another round of inspection for possible presence of contraband such as shabu, said Supt. Peter Bongngat Jr., the jail warden.

Tension remains high to this hour as negotiations continue with the prisoners so that the gate could be unlocked. CDG/rga
