Agusan del Sur judge, anti-drug advocate ambushed

BUTUAN CITY– An Agusan del Sur judge known for his tough stance against drugs was ambushed here on Friday.

Judge Hector Salise of the Bayugan court was on a car driven by his driver when fired at along the highway in Barangay (village) Limon around 7 a.m., Insp. Ronelo Dormitorio, deputy chief of the city police’s station 4 said.

Dormitorio said Salise was on his way to Agusan del Sur, where he handles cases such as violation of the anti-drugs law, when the incident took place.

Salise was known to be tough against drug suspects whose cases fall under his sala.
