Cop, doctor killed as pickup truck falls into ravine in Benguet
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines—A policeman and a doctor were killed when their Toyota Hilux pickup truck fell into a 100-meter deep ravine at 4 a.m. on Friday in Atok town, Benguet along the Halsema Highway.
Rescuers retrieved the remains of SPO1 Clifford Valdez and his sister, Dr. Setilita Valdez-Sanches, who were on their way to the summer capital from Buguias town, where they attended a relative’s funeral.
Another passenger, Bradly Valdez, was rushed to the Benguet General Hospital in Benguet’s capital town of La Trinidad. RAM/rga
