Drug suspect resists arrest, is shot dead in Tacurong

KORONADAL CITY – A suspect was killed in a police anti-drug operation in Tacurong City on Tuesday dawn.

Supt. Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police director, identified the slain man as Russel Hamid Paglas alias “Tsokay Piang,” a resident of the “Yellow Village” subdivision, Barangay New Isabela, Tacurong City.

Supiter said Paglas resisted arrest and traded shots with lawmen at 4 a.m., triggering a brief gun battle. He was injured and rushed by police officials to a hospital in Tacurong City where he expired.

Supiter said two .45-pistols and a hand grenade were seized from Paglas.

Paglas was one of the subjects of search warrants issued by Judge Alexandrex Betoya of Regional Trial Court 13 in Cotabato City.  SFM
