Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo on Tuesday noted the inconsistencies in the electoral protest of defeated vice presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Robredo said there were many details in the election protest that proved that the claims of Marcos’ camp lacked basis from the start.

At a press conference in the Quezon City Reception House, Robredo said her legal team had discovered that Marcos’ witnesses who said Robredo committed electoral fraud gave questionable statements.

“Maraming mga affidavits galing sa iba’t ibang mga probinsya pero parehong pareho ang laman noong affidavit, as in word for word, pare-pareho,” she said.

The Vice President, a lawyer, also denied bribing witnesses of the former senator to back out from the case.

Marcos’ spokesperson Vic Rodriguez denied that they used fictitious accounts of electoral fraud, saying the Liberal Party had been bribing the witnesses to retract their statements.

Robredo said it was unfair for Marcos’ camp to accuse the party of bribery.

She then challenged Marcos’ camp to name a specific LP member who bribed their witness.
