MILF owns up to ambushes in Zamboanga Sibugay

By

COTABATO CITY, Philippines—The Moro Islamic Liberation Front on Friday owned up to Thursday’s two ambush incidents in Zamboanga Sibugay but justified it as a retaliatory attack against the military.

Von Al Haq, MILF spokesperson, the two ambush incidents were prompted by artillery attacks on MILF camps in Zamboanga Sibugay.

“That’s the consequences of their action. It’s retaliation … part of war. Soldiers have been indiscriminately pounding our position and civilian areas in Bayao town,” he said.

Rebels ambushed two army convoys and a joint-military-police patrol on the strife-torn southern island of Mindanao late on Thursday, killing six government men and wounding eight others, authorities said.

The attacks came two days after MILF forces killed 19 soldiers on the remote southern island of Basilan in one of the worst outbreaks of violence between the two sides in years.

The MILF has said five of its own fighters were killed in that clash. Agence France-Presse

Malacanang will reap the whirlwind here from the people of Mindanao if they will still go through the peace talk like this is a non-event. The chrsitian majority in Mindanao who have been silent all these months are bristling at the government and the MILF. Kidnapping is isolated and done by criminals. But acts of war can never be isolated. These dead soldiers are their neighbors, their relatives, their friends, their family. The national government must listen to what they feel about this and not be headstrong with a peace talk like everything is hanky dory. Expect the worst if Malacanang will do a mistep here.

This is already an open declaration of war!!!!! isolated pa ba din ito? In the Basilan encounter they claimed that OUR SOLDIERS went into the Territory of the MILF….but the ambush in Sibugay? a retailation? BS na talaga to..Wala ba karapatan mag RETALIATE din ang military? ano ba Penoy..buhay na ng sundalo to..isolated pa rin?

Now is the right time to declare an all out war against the MILF. wala na silang support from Bin Laden, wala na rin si Ghadafy na nag bibigay support sa kanila. its time na tapusin na ang kataran tadohan ng MILF. let the full force and might of the AFP destroy them!

let the full force and might of the AFP destroy them! quote unquote, ano yan? mayroon ba ang AFP nito?  di ba puro nakawan lang ang alam ng AFP?

Dado, while indeed, there are corrupt military officers in the AFP, in fact there plenty of them, but there are still honest & dedicated soldiers who are more then willing to die for us here in mindanao in the name of peace..  To the soldiers who sacrificed and die so that  others may live.., Salamat.. you did not die in vain..,Rest in peace..,our heroes…

From businessmen being kidnapped to Fr. PNoy, hindi ito playstation na puydi tulug tulugan…time for some action…..

    • http://www.facebook.com/usomi Usomi Pakatmi

Please do not mix up Fr. Tentorio’s death with this. Arakan is not a Moro place. Hindi porket Mindanao eh MILF na ang nasa isip.

      • Anonymous

Whatever…the fact remains that lawlessness abounds in most of the areas there and it’s time for the military to root it out.

      • http://www.facebook.com/usomi Usomi Pakatmi

and what if these lawlessness were committed by the military or its auxilliaries? the point is Fr. Tentorio’s death should not be linked to MILF immediately because it happened in MIndanao. Remember that the death of Fr. Favali (Fr. Tentorio’s PIME colleague) was committed by militiamen.

So, what now mr. Pwesident? The killed soldiers are your demonstration that the rebels are superior thus the government needs to ask for peace talk. That Mindanao’s peace depends on the rebels and not to the government is what this “no all-out war” political gimmick implies. Procrastination and indecisiveness brought this country to what it is now – miserable, poor country.

Is it the MILF causing this mess or the Americans who are befriending the MILF. Please recall the support of the Americans to a settlement by the government with the MILF. I would not be surprised if more of such incident take place, which is designed to increase the bargaining position of the MILF. If the government is shown to be weak or incapable , what would stop the MILF from asking for the inclusion of  General Santos City to the area they want control of. With that city in the hands of the MILF, Sarangani bay gets to open for the Americans who planned on it as a replacement for Clark and Subic. Perhaps it is now getting clearer why they  built those massive runways in the area. If they don’t get it with a treaty with the Philippine senate, there is always another way.

So maybe let us all go and look closely to better understand how we should finally act. Where does the firepower of the MILF and Abu Sayaff ( a creation of the Americans as claimed by its founder )  come from and how come they are able to always able to move one step ahead of our soldiers.

    • Anonymous

      Mr. Andy Bonifacio:

You may be right about the Americans.

It was long time the speculation that Sarangani Bay was to replace the Olongapo Bay.

More than 10 years ago they implemented this with the construction of that beautiful highway from Kidapawan to Gen San.

In any negotiation always lay a position with strength and never never offer any strategic concession. Obtain secure battlefield communications and the latest Gatling guns. Deliver interdiction fire at 3:00 am by air assets to remind these cocky characters that a 6,000 rpm delivery of ordnance will be the only tactical concession that they will receive and should respect. Once their bravado backbone is crushed the scattered remnants / stragglers could then be summarily disposed of by our special patrols specially if they are deprived of sleep and food. Identify and send their armorer/s to oblivion. Our brave warriors can be outnumbered but shall never be outgunned.
