2 dead in Laguna, Rizal buy-busts

SAN PEDRO CITY—Two people tagged by the police as illegal drug personalities were killed in separate encounters in Laguna and Rizal, the police said Saturday.

An emailed report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (CALABARZON) police said suspect Crisanto Medullar was killed around 5:45 p.m. Friday in Barangay (village) Sto. Cristo, San Pablo City, Laguna. The report also said Medullar fought against police when they were about to arrest them during a buy-bust operation.

In Rizal province, another drug suspect identified only as alias “Andak” was also killed during a buy-bust operation around 10 p.m. Friday in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City.

The report said the suspect drew his firearm in an attempt to escape. Another suspect who was with Andak was able to escape the authorities.
