Duterte to name 27 local execs in drugs
PRESIDENT Duterte is set to identify local officials allegedly involved in the illegal drugs trade, a Palace official said on Monday.
“My God, you will be shocked,” presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo said as he revealed that 27 local executives would be named based on intelligence reports.
When asked if he could name a few, Panelo declined, telling reporters: “Hintayin n’yo na lang para mas may impact.”
He said the President would reveal the names on Tuesday night or on Wednesday.
Panelo said many were from the provinces and belonging to prominent families.
He said Duterte personally knew some of the names.
“Basta ang sabi ni Presidente, ‘Kilala ko ito pero I have a duty to serve and protect the people,” the presidential legal counsel said./ac/rga
