Drug suspect killed in Antipolo buy bust

SAN PEDRO CITY – An alleged drug peddler was killed in a shootout with policemen during a buy bust operation in Antipolo City in Rizal province on Sunday, police said on Monday.
In an emailed report, the Rizal police said Leonido Mortalla, 37, allegedly fired at undercover policemen during a sting operation in Barangay (village) Mambugan at 4 p.m.

Mortalla, a native of Calauag town in Quezon province, died instantly after he was hit when policemen returned fire.
Police recovered an improvised handgun and a sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the slain suspect.  Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
