Drug suspect, village councilman killed in Nueva Ecija violence

CABANATUAN CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed in an alleged gunfight with policemen shortly before Friday dawn (July 22) at his residence in Barangay San Juan, Aliaga town in Nueva Ecija.

Rosendo Sagun was killed after he fired at policemen serving him an arrest warrant, said PO3 Philip Cajucom, the investigator handling the case.

He said the policemen recovered a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and a caliber .38 revolver.

In San Antonio town on Thursday (July 21), Papaya village councilman Leopoldo Ferrer was killed by two unidentified gunmen who attacked a drinking spree with automatic rifles at 9 p.m. Ferrer’s companion, Rodolfo Mudlong, was hurt and is being treated at a local hospital, police said. CDG
