Ex-Lanao del Sur town mayor, husband nabbed in drug bust
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY–A former Lanao del Sur mayor and her soldier-husband were arrested during a raid by anti-drug agents and the local police in Barangay Kauswagan here on Saturday morning.
The suspects were identified as former Maguing town mayor Johaira Abinal and her husband, Major Suharto Macabuat, who is assigned with the Philippine Army’s Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group in Fort Bonifacio.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the city police also seized packets of suspected shabu and a handgun during the raid on the couple’s house. CDG
