2 drug suspects killed in Cavite, Rizal buy-bust operations
SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines—Two people were killed during police buy-bust operations in Rizal and Cavite provinces, the regional police on Friday said.
In an emailed report from the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police on Friday, drug suspect Ryan San Juan was killed by policemen around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday during a buy-bust operation in Barangay del Remedio in Cardona, Rizal. Police claimed San Juan suddenly drew his gun, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate.
In Bacoor City, Cavite, suspect Rico Desuasido was also killed in a shootout around 7:50 p.m. in Barangay Panapaan 3.
Both suspects yielded a .38 caliber gun and packets of suspected shabu, the report claimed.
Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon regional police information officer, said 70 drug suspects were killed in different armed encounters with policemen in the region from June 1 to July 10. RAM/rga
