MANILA — A Grabcar driver was robbed by his own passenger on Monday evening in Pasig City after being lured with a free massage treat.

A report by Senior Superintendent Jose Hidalgo, Jr., chief of the Pasig City Police, showed that Eduardo Palacay, 39, a resident of Malinta, Valenzuela City, was robbed by his still unidentified passenger who requested that Palacay wait while the passenger was having a massage at the One Body Spa along Raymundo Avenue in Barangay Caniogan in Pasig City.

While traversing towards Pasig, however, the passenger asked Palacay to stop at a body spa center and told Palacay to wait.

The passenger then offered to pay for Palacay’s massage later, convincing the driver to wait.

When it was his turn to have a massage, Palacay went inside the comfort room and left his belongings on the chair beside the Spa bed. His passenger took that chance to grab Palacay’s bag with two cellular phones, P3,000, three pieces of ATM Cards, Grab G-cash card  and various identification cards.

An investigation is ongoing for the identification and arrest of the suspect.
