Not a human, but a monkey, has made “monkey business,” stealing a wad of bills from a jewelry store in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. The theft incident was caught on video and uploaded online.

In an interview with Huffington Post India, the jewelry store owner recalled the events that happened last May: “The monkey threw a guava inside the shop and then entered the jewelry store and fled away with the cash. We threw the fruit back but it entered the shop anyway.”

The aggressive intruder then grasped a chance to break into the jewelry store and “searched for something.” Then, it hopped to an office chair and sat for nearly 20 minutes. Next, it opened a drawer and snatched a bundle of 10,000 rupees (144 dollars).

The storekeeper tried to chase the athletic monkey, but the robbery incident happened so swift that he failed to catch the furry culprit.

According to the Hindustan Times, the CCTV footage was uploaded on social media platforms and it went “insanely viral.” Gianna Francesca Catolico
