Gunman kills Ecija man, wounds 72-year-old father

SAN ISIDRO, Nueva Ecija — A man was killed while his 72-year-old father was wounded by a lone gunman while they were waiting for a bus in San Roque village on Sunday (May 15).

Janby Sileng, 27, died from multiple gunshot wounds in the head and torso.

His father, Gernaro an Ilocos Norte resident, was shot once and is being treated at a hospital in the town of Cabiao.

They were standing along the roadside at 3:20 a.m. when the gunman approached them, and fired his .45-pistol, police said. Investigators have not yet established the motive for the attack.  SFM
