PANDI, Bulacan—Just three days before the May 9 national elections, presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe said she is now at peace and still confident that she could win the presidency.

(I have brought forth the issues before our countrymen. I fought for them even for my platforms. But in the end, they will be the ones to decide. So whatever the decision would be, I’m ready to accept it.)

Poe said she is also happy knowing the she did what she had to do and that she kept her integrity intact after grueling months of campaigning.

The campaign, which officially started last February 9, will finally come to an end on Saturday.

Maayos ang ating kampanya,” she said.

([I’m] happy because I was able to do what is appropriate. I did not engage in mudslinging. My campaign has been good.)

(I still have the chance to win the presidency because many are waking up. My ratings in NCR and Luzon are picking up. That’s why I continue with my campaign. But it’s good to think that my life would be peaceful after this and we can all rest.)

Poe was trailing  Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in the latest presidential surveys.

While she thinks that she already did her best, she said, there were times that she felt she could have done more.

“But when I come back to it and I think about it, at that particular time, those are my choices,” she said.

On Saturday, Poe and her team “Partido Galing at Puso” will hold two political rallies—one in Pangasinan in the morning and at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila in the afternoon.

Pangasinan is the hometown of Poe’s adoptive father, the late action king Fernando Poe Jr.

A devout Catholic, Poe said she chose to end her campaign at Plaza Miranda, just beside the Quiapo Church, the same venue where they also held their proclamation rally.

RAM/rga

(Many said that [Plaza Miranda] might be too small for us but it is symbolic for me. It wouldn’t be just a gathering for miting de avance. It would be a message that what we are doing is for our people and according to God’s will.).
