300 soldiers cast absentee votes in Lanao del Norte

KAUSWAGAN, Lanao del Norte—Some 300 soldiers under the 15th Infantry Battalion based in Barangay Bagumbayan here have cast their ballots during the three-day absentee voting that ended on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Leomar Jose Doctolero, the 15th IB commander, said on Friday that those who joined the absentee voting were soldiers assigned in hinterland villages of Munai and Poona Piagapo towns.

They could not go to their hometowns for the May elections because they were tasked with the security of their assigned villages, he said. RC
