Candidate for councilor shot dead in Sorsogon political rally
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A candidate for town councilor in Matnog, Sorsogon, was shot and killed by a group of armed men during a political rally in the village of Pawa on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
Cayetano Gallanosa Oro Jr. was attending a campaign rally at 6:20 p.m. when the armed men attacked, killing him instantly, said Senior Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol regional police spokesperson.
Calubaquib said no other person was harmed.

Police have yet to establish any motive for the attack.
