SAN MIGUEL, Bulacan—Let’s have a doctor swap.

Presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte shot back at his rival Vice President Jejomar Binay on Wednesday for saying he was too sick to last a six-year presidency.

In an interview on Wednesday, Binay dared Duterte to release his medical records to prove that he was fit to run for president.

“Siguro, Mr. Duterte, mag-issue ka naman, kahit na certificate lang that you’re in the pink of health,” Binay said.

Duterte agreed to release his medical records on the condition that his doctor and Binay’s physician would switch places.

“Basta maghubad siya sa harap ko para makita ng tao kung sino ang may sakit,” Duterte said in jest.

But the tough-talking mayor’s tone immediately turned serious on the issue.

“Basta ang doctor ko ang mag-examine sa kanya para walang dayaan at ang doctor niya ang mag-examine sa akin. Kasi kung doctor niya dayain niya yan e,” he told reporters in an interview before going to a series of campaign rallies here.

He noted that Binay lacked vigor during the first presidential debate in Cagayan de Oro City in February.

“Kasi nakita mo si Binay maglakad? Nakita niyo yung unang debate na din makahakbang?” he said.

He observed how Binay’s hands were trembling during the debate.

“Ewan ko kung ninenerbiyos o yan ang dahilan basta magnakaw ng pera di na hihinto yan,” he said.

“Sa bilangan ng pera? Mahirap kasi ang mag-ano (bilang ) ka ng bilyon?” he added.
