60-yr-old woman shot dead in Davao del Sur

DIGOS CITY, Philippines — A motorcycle-riding suspect shot and killed an elderly woman and critically wounded her son in a shooting incident in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, the police said.

Senior Inspector Ricky Remoroza, Magsaysay town police chief, said Alicia Salvador, 60, was on a motorcycle driven by her son, Louie, when attacked near the town’s public market at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Alicia died instantly while Louie was critically wounded and had to be rushed to Davao City, he said. The suspect fled unmolested.

It was learned that Alicia oversees her family’s landholdings and tended her sick husband.

“We have established an angle to start our probe from but I cannot reveal any detail yet,” he said.
