Elderly couple, employee killed in Nueva Ecija robbery

GAPAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – An elderly couple and their female employee were killed in a suspected robbery at their home in Barangay (village) San Nicolas on Tuesday (March 29).

Killed were Rosendo Matias, 77; his 73-year-old wife, Erlinda; and Jennifer dela Cruz, 34.

Matias’ remains were discovered by an equipment operator at the victim’s garage, while the bodies of the two women were discovered inside the house at about 8:45 a.m., said PO3 Francisco Capili, the lead investigator of the city police.

He said the contents of the couple’s vault were in disarray.

Police forensic investigators recovered five empty shells from a 9mm pistol.  SFM
