LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Lawyer Vicente Joyas, head of a lawyers’ group supporting Vice President Jejomar Binay’s bid for the presidency, said the Supreme Court ruling allowing Sen. Grace Poe to run for
president after affirming her claim of being a natural-born citizen must be obeyed.

“The Supreme Court has spoken. We must follow,” said Joyas, chair of Abogado ni Binay (Anib), a group of volunteer lawyers supporting Binay’s candidacy for president.

“We cannot do anything. That is the high court’s decision. We must accept that,” said Joyas, the former national president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

But according to Joyas, Poe is not qualified to succeed President Aquino.

“Her credibility and sincerity are suspect,” Joyas added.  SFM
