Malate hotel worker shot after refusing to give his tablet to robbers

MANILA — Two robbers shot a worker of a Malate hotel after the victim refused to give up his tablet worth P20,000.

Supt. Aldrin Gran, commander of Malate station, reported that victim Morris Albert Asilar, 31, was walking toward his home on Dominga street when one of the robbers got off a motorcycle about 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.

The robber, still unidentified, blocked his path, poked a gun at him, and grabbed his tablet.

Asilar refused. The robbed got irritated and shot him the in the left leg, which exited from his right leg.

Asilar cried for help prompting barangay watchman Victor Morales to rush to him.

Asilar was rushed to Ospital ng Maynila. He said he could not give a description of the robbers because they were wearing face masks.

Physician Sarah Ranay, the attending physician, said Asilar was in stable condition, as of Thursday.  SFM
