Country needs leader with fresh ideas to solve old, new problems—Poe
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Senator Grace Poe said the country needs a leader who can be trusted.
This was among the many reasons why Poe thinks she should become the next president of the Philippines.
“Sa Pilipinas, sa buong Pilipinas, ang importante ay isang lider na makakapagtiwalaan,” Poe said in her closing statement during the first presidential debate at the Capitol University here on Sunday.

“Oo nga bago nga ako pero hindi na rin bago ang ating mga problema at marami ngang matagal dyan pero paulit-paulit ang kanilang mga lumang solution,” she added.
(True, I am a newbie but our problems are not new and those who are in the government service for years keep repeating obsolete solutions.)
Poe served as chair of the Movie and Television Review and Classification before she became senator in 2013.
Her alleged lack of experience was among the issues being raised against her by her rivals in the upcoming May presidential elections.
