Senator Grace Poe on Saturday said she was “overwhelmed and humbled” by the continued support of the people for her despite the hurdles in her presidential aspiration.

This, after she regained the lead in the latest Pulse Asia survey on the people’s presidential preference.

“The latest Pulse Asia survey is both overwhelming and humbling. It echoes the voice of the people who trust and believe in my capacity to be a leader no matter what hurdles are thrown my way,” Poe said in a statement.

The Pu survey, which was conducted from January 24 to 28, revealed that Poe was the top choice of 33 percent of the 1,800 respondents.

Her rivals Vice President Jejomar Binay, Liberal Party standard-bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte were considered in a statistical tie for second place.

Poe’s spokesperson Rex Gatchalian, meanwhile, said her camp would continue to let voters know that she remains in the race for the presidency despite her pending disqualification cases.

“We believe that there are still voters out there who are uncertain about the status of her candidacy, hence it becomes more imperative for us to clarify that matter and as a result gain more ground,” said Gatchalian.

He also said her camp would intensify efforts to drum up interest in her platform of governance, which seeks to emphasize inclusive growth and compassion.
