NO more adult diaper this year for Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) enforcers who will be deployed during the Black Nazarene procession.

“We will not use them anymore,” MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos said, adding that all the agency’s stocks in 2015 have been distributed to enforcers who secured the procession last year.

During the procession last year, MMDA traffic enforcers assigned to the parade were asked to wear adult diapers.

Former MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino explained that they came up with the idea because of the anticipated shortage of portable toilets on the streets of Manila during the Nazareno’s parade.

After receiving public ridicule for the agency’s decision, MMDA said that the use of adult diaper was optional.

The annual Black Nazarene procession on Saturday, January 9, is expected to draw millions of Catholic devotees across the Philippines.
