Ex-LTO chief Virgie Torres passes away—report

Former Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Virginia “Virgie” Torres passed away on Saturday morning due to a heart attack, a radio report said.

According to a report from radio station DZMM, Torres, said to be a shooting buddy of President Benigno Aquino III, died in Clark, Pampanga.

The former assistant transportation secretary became controversial in 2013 after figuring in a viral YouTube video, which showed her playing a slot machine in an unnamed casino.
