Van falls in Benguet on New Year’s Day

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines–A van carrying 16 passengers fell into a 100 meter deep ravine in Benguet’s Kabayan town on Friday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.

The accident along sitio Colong, Batan village was relayed to the police by Atok Mayor Peter Alos at ten in the morning, said Supt. Cherry Fajardo, spokesperson of the Cordillera police office.

Details of the accident have not bee made available at presstime.

Fajardo said rescue efforts were still ongoing. TVJ
