Mexican airline delays flight after threat

MEXICO CITY — A Mexican airline flight from Mexico City to Cancun has been delayed after a passenger made a bomb threat.

Mexico’s Volaris airline said in a statement Tuesday that “a passenger aboard Flight 714 … made a bomb threat.”

Volaris said “the customers and crew are on the ground and are well.”

Mexico City’s international airport said in a statement that a search turned up no explosive device.

FEATURED STORIES

The flight had 179 passengers aboard and was taken to a secure area of the terminal.

The airport said no other flights were affected.
