‘Marilyn’ enters PAR

Infa_15112206TYPHOON “Marilyn” entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Sunday afternoon but is not expected to make landfall, the weather bureau said.

Marilyn (international name: In-fa) was monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) 1,140 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, at 4 p.m. It is expected to be 1,010 km east of Aurora this morning.

Forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the typhoon had winds of 175 kph and gusts of up to 210 kph. It is moving west-northwest at 25 kph.

Pagasa said Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas, as well as Mindanao, can expect cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms. Up north, the Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan group of islands can expect cloudy skies with light rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
