Basilan governor’s brother, his wife killed in Isabela City

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—The brother of Basilan Governor Jum Akbar and his wife were shot and killed at around 7 p.m. Monday.

Killed were Basher Jainuddin and his wife, according to Omar Akbar, the governor’s nephew.

Omar said the shooting happened near the Basilan State College in Isabela City.

Police still could not give details of the killing at this time.
