Dog weighing 74kg flies first class on American Airlines

A photo of “fattest dog” has gone viral after user Madeleine posted it on Twitter. According to her tweets, the dog flew first class on American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Denver on Oct 26.

Her original tweet has been retweeted more than 4,000 times.

In an interview with Mashable, Madeleine said the dog was the last passenger to board the plane that she was on and sat in the front row of of the first class cabin with its owner.

She told the news blog that the dog spent most of the flight lying on the ground near its seat, and did not bark for the duration of the journey.

The dog has been identified as Hank the Tank whose owner is Kari Whitman, an interior designer who founded Ace of Hearts of Dog Rescue in California.

According to Hank’s Instagram account, Whitman rescued the 165-pound (74kg) Mastiff breed dog from a shelter in Los Angeles.
