/ 01:00 PM October 18, 2015

SM malls in provinces hit by Typhoon “Lando” (international name: Koppu) will open their parking areas overnight to flood-affected residents.

“In the areas where severe flooding is experienced, we provide parking spaces for the residents. Overnight charges are waived,” read a statement issued by SM on Sunday.

SM malls offering parking without charges included SM Rosales in Pangasinan, SM Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, SM Baguio and SM Olongapo.

The said malls will also open their doors to individuals stranded by floods.

“In times of calamities, our malls offer temporary respite and a family meeting point for families who may be unable to get to their residence,” the statement added.

Lando, although it has further weakened slightly, will continue to bring rains to several provinces in Luzon, as well as Metro Manila.

Although it is currently pummeling Nueva Ecija, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Lando” continues to be a threat to the Cordillera Region. RAM
