Lovers robbed

A couple dating at the public plaza in Poblacion, Lapu Lapu City was robbed by five men of their valuables and school uniform which they placed inside their bags last Friday night.

Rene Masong, 18, and Angelica Arong, 19, lost their mobile phones worth P1,400 and P800 respectively, a gold necklace worth P8,000 and P200 cash to the robbers.

Escapee arrested

A drug suspect who escaped from the Mambaling police precinct cell last Sept. 27 was re-arrested by an off duty policeman in downtown Cebu City last Friday night.

Jerome Martinez, 26, was in possession of a hunting knife and a wallet owned by another person when he was arrested by PO1 Rey Iligan of the Mobile Patrol Group (MPG).

Martinez was arrested  on a drug charge last Sept. 25 and escaped the next day after he sawed off the iron bar of his precinct cell.

Burglary

A resident of San Roque, Talisay lost P160, 000 worth of cash and valuables to burglars who ransacked his house last Friday dawn.

Loreto Apa, 38, only found out about the burglary when he woke up yesterday morning.

Police investigation showed that the still unidentified suspects climbed the perimeter fence of Apa’s residence and later went into the terrace which led to the master’s bedroom. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc

Psychiatric test

PO3 Romeo Bolaño who went berserk on Oct. 1 while at the Baywalk in Poblacion East in Naga City, was recommended by Sr. Supt. Louie Oppus, deputy director for operation of the Police Regional Office (PRO-7), to undergo psychiatric examination to determine his mental health.
